I built this kinetic sculpture for a music studio, Big Acre Sound, in my hometown, where it hangs in the studio loft. It is approximately 8′ long, and includes 72 drumsticks. The sculpture uses a motor inside of a repurposed bass drum to animate the drumsticks, which create a kinetic waveform.
The constant rolling wave of drumsticks provides a soothing element to the studio. I am very happy with how it came out!
